In this course, students will become proficient in the processes of scientific investigation by designing, conducting, communicating and evaluating scientific investigations.  These investigations will be primarily focused on the characteristics of living things, how living things interact with each other and their environment, survival techniques and adaptations, and how organisms' traits are passed on from generation to generation.  Course units follow the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and, in order, are: Ecology, Matter and Energy, Genetics, and Natural Selection.
