Ms. Samantha Phillips

WELCOME TO MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSIC!!

Hi! Welcome to my page! I would like to introduce myself! My name is Ms. Phillips and I am the middle school band, choir and applied music teacher! I am so glad to meet all of you and all the students! 

A little about me: this is my second year teaching as a teacher, but my first year as a Highland Husky! I am so excited to be here to help all students succeed and be their absolute best. I graduated from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska with a bachelor of arts degree in K-12 Music Education instrumental/vocal music. I have taught one year in elementary music and then this year as a middle school music teacher. I am from Wyoming, graduated high school in Gillette, and moved to Colorado this year! I am not unfamiliar with the state or even the region! When I am not teaching music, I play soccer with a group every week, and I also coach soccer on the weekends. I love sports and see the excitement so much. I played a lot of sports growing up and I understand the awesomeness of being in a sport.   

I taught a beginning band in my previous year and have been so excited to continue and be able to grow our existing program and to build off of it. We are really focusing on building off of previous knowledge and really building up the basics!
