Hello and welcome to the 2023 - 2024 school year! 

I will be starting my 4th year of teaching and am excited to reintroduce myself with my new name! If you didn't already know, previously I was Ms. Chapman. 

I have been teaching here at Highland since I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado back in December of 2020. It has been such a privilege to get to teach here for the past three years, and such a joy that I will continue to teach here this year! 

I teach Mathematics in the high school; specifically, PreAlgebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and RTI PreAlgebra. If you have had me before, I plan on making some changes to how I run my classroom -- students, don't worry. I will talk about it when I see you in class. :)  

A little about me: I am 25 years old and got married this past summer. I have two snakes (one ball python and one corn snake) whom I love dearly. I also have three betta fish and a tank full of guppies! I love animals and we hope to add a puppy to our family sometime in the near future. Reading and playing video games are some of my favorite hobbies, along with fishing, camping, hiking, singing, and crafting. 

I also LOVE to learn, so I love this job because it constantly challenges me in new ways and helps me to expand my brain. 

Qualities that are super important to me are honesty, open-mindedness, and respect. I believe and live in these values in everything I do, and I expect my students to do the same. I have two main goals for my students: 1) to teach them math and 2) to help them grow into better human beings. I find no greater joy than helping students reach their full potential and watching them grow along the way. 

Math is something that I am extremely passionate about, and I firmly believe that ANYONE can do it! If you are a person struggling, please reach out and I am MORE than happy to help you along the way.
