Engraved in the brickwork on our 1921 school building you will find the words “Every Addition to True Knowledge is an Addition to Human Progress”. Those words held true in the beginning of the 20th century and still exude wisdom today, nearly one hundred years later. You will find that the Weld RE9 School district is comprised of approximately 160 employees and board members who have a trenchant dedication to human progress.

Our district is responsible for serving the communities of Carr, Nunn, Pierce and Ault, located in Northern Weld County. The district covers over 450 square miles extending from the Wyoming border to our district boundary South of Ault. Currently there are approximately 940 students who attend grades K-12. Additionally, our district participates in the Colorado Preschool Program, coordinating with ABC Child Development Center.

The schools in our district are dedicated to providing a standard based curriculum that is based on creating an atmosphere where students are engaged in rigorous and relevant learning objectives. We utilize data to individualize learning for students. We are active participants in the Colorado Measures Of Academic Success (CMAS) and would welcome you to explore our results on this website as well as the information provided by the Colorado Department of Education. In addition to academics, we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities including Husky Athletics, and a vibrant fine arts curriculum. "We Build Excellence" is a theme that has emerged for our district. Whether the project is a technology system, a curriculum project, an athletic team or an academic foundation for students, our quest is to build excellence.

Our community members take pride in our district and have witnessed marked improvement in facility and grounds in recent years. Some completed projects include the a 42,000 square foot addition to our high school. Renovation of our middle school gym and construction of a new transportation, maintenance facility.

Equally important as our achievements is our direction for the future. We understand the responsibility of educating children for a world that we do not know. The value of education continues to increase and we must partner with parents and community members to meet this challenge. Our strategic planning is focused on student achievement, specifically, creating students who think independently, creatively and critically. While this is a never ending task, the process will allow us to graduate productive citizens that will become “An Addition to Human Progress”.

In closing, I would invite you to visit our district. There are opportunities to become involved in the district from volunteer programs to serving on committees at the building or district level. If you would like further information or have questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact our administrative offices.

    In Education,
    Robert D. Ring Jr.
